Instructor Alex Genther started his martial arts journey at the age of 7 years old in 1994 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Since then, he has become a 4th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and has trained under many martial arts masters. While Tae Kwon Do is his “bread and butter”, Instructor Alex has had many years of Karate, Kung-Fu, Jiu-Jitsu, Fencing, Kick Boxing, Capoeira, and many traditional weapons.

He believes in teaching with a strong foundation in traditional martial arts; including practical self-defense, forms, sparring, board breaking, grappling, cardiovascular and strength training, and some fun sprinkled in there!

The transition from student to instructor began when Instructor Alex got his first degree Black Belt in Karate at the age of 18. Even during the years of moving, training under different masters, and the storms of life, Alex always found a way to keep training and help others grow with him.
